What's it even worth living for? I feel like shit every fucking day. I have nothing to do. All living is is just someone bitching at you over the slightest thing.

Fuck my life. Nothing is worth it.

DarkMatterMan4500 (talkcontribs)

Whoa, what is this all about?

SkullcrawlerBuddyOfficial (talkcontribs)

I've been depressed for years. I don't have anyone to talk to who can help me.

LifeWasGoodOnHotdogStand (talkcontribs)

I'm sorry about that, but Miraheze isn't the best place to talk about that stuff. Maybe a private conversation on Discord could help.

Mortal Kombat 1995

SkullcrawlerBuddyOfficial (talkcontribs)

WARNING: This is my opinion. Don't throw a hissy pissy fit because I dislike a movie you like. I am NOT trying to force you to agree with me. So don't whine.

Why it Sucks:

1. First off -- there is nothing special about this movie. It's yet another cliché fantasy action movie that tries to be "unique" by being based off of a game. The only thing unique about this movie is that it's another movie to ruin Paul W.S Anderson's image.

2. Poor grasp of the source material. There is a complete lack of any graphic violence or gore in this movie. The characters are unnecessarily changed and there are pointlessly changed story tropes from the games throughout the movie.

3. Poor and hammy acting, just showing off that the actors clearly weren't even trying.

4. Absolutely abysmal special effects and CGI, and the costumes are extremely goofy and fake looking.

5. It has created a trend of the same bad qualities the later Mortal Kombat movies would have. Examples include:

    • It throws way too many short fight scenes at you when they aren't needed.
    • Pointlessly changing the source material of the games because we need to be different (this was especially bad in 2021).

6. There is absolutely no storyline or plot. Even when the writers try to write one it is unengaging and ridiculously amateurish. There are a fucking million plot holes. For instance, Johnny Cage escaping Netherealm never being explained since there was no portal, or the henchman somehow being too stupid to notice Sonya chasing Kano through the night club.

7. Terrible and corny dialogue.

8. Pathetic villains. This problem reappeared in 2021. Scorpion and Sub Zero were the only interesting ones. The rest of them (even important characters like Goro and Reptile) are only in just to add more time to the movie's clock because we NEED to make it longer, or are just emotionless statues.

9. It completely gets the facts about different foreign cultures wrong. In this movie, Liu Kang's family members refer to him as "Liu" when the Chinese always refer to them by their last name.

10. It barely feels like a Mortal Kombat movie. It feels more like a Power Rangers fanfiction than something out of Mortal Kombat of all games.

11. There is nothing memorable about this movie. The only thing you'll remember are the fights and music, that's it.

12. The kills are just sad and boring. Kano's death is especially lame.

Redeeming Qualities

1. Outstanding fight scenes, especially the fight between Liu Kang and Reptile. They are the only entertaining things about this movie.

2. Incredible musical score.

3. It does have a fair share of funny moments here and there.

4. Raiden's actor at least seemed to actually be trying.

(OFF TOPIC) Why reddit shouldn't be on FWW.

SkullcrawlerBuddyOfficial (talkcontribs)

1. The community. It was probably obvious you've seen this coming. Reddit has one of the worst communities out there. I believe it is legitimately worse than Twitter. For example; meme spam. I know reddit is known for its reputation of being a meme website, but this is just ridiculous. In general half of the memes are just about dead memes from 2019 or making fun of someone else. The entire website is flooded with poorly made unfunny memes that the community treats like fact. Speaking of that...

2. Reddit treats memes like they're a fact or a documentary. I'm a fellow meme enjoyer too, but going this far is just silly. Reddit spams memes so much that they begin to treat them like they're the word of god itself. Because of this spammage, it has created unfunny stereotypes throughout the website (ex. all quiet kids are school shooters, PewDiePie is a god, etc). Also, reddit acts like you should ALWAYS find they're "memes" funny and agree with them.

3. Beliefs & opinions. I know every single website has this problem. But reddit really sticks out. You thought Twitter had an awful community who couldn't tolerate opinions? Think again! Every reddit user I've seen is a clone, they all have the same beliefs and can't tolerate any criticism towards it. It's the opposite of how Twitter has this gimmick of "Have an opinion? You shouldn't." whereas reddit has "Don't have an opinion? You should". No matter what, users always seem to attempt to convince you that you NEED to think the same things as them no matter what. It's just so silly.

4. Bullying is rampant. Remember the fiasco of that kid who said he didn't care about PewDiePie and Minecraft?. Boy, little ol' reddit can't help but whine over someone not liking something with a meme status as much as them. Reddit made hate subreddits about him, sent him emails insulting him, and even tried DOXXING HIM! Reddit for some reason has this fetish for creating subreddits about hating something. There are way too many reddit users who dedicate their lives to hating something as a personality trait.

There are subreddits dedicated to hating cats, dogs, children, and literal cartoon characters. The last one being the saddest (but not the worst overtly) because they treat legitimate fucking drawings like they're real people. It's fine to be annoyed by a fake character (Jeffy from SML REEEEAAALLY gets on my nerves), but don't act like they are real people who burnt their house or killed their dog. Just stop this pathetic shit.

5. Horrendous moderators. I can't understand why reddit users keep using being a mod as a good boy token or a thing to be proud of. I mean, c'mon! You're a moderator for one of the most toxic websites with some of the worst and most toxic communities that is so widely hated. How is that something to be proud of? Why do you think people will love you and see you like a savior when you literally insult your own community?

Anyway, too many mods are grossly unprofessional. Reddit has a huge problem with mods shadowbanning users for their beliefs or just out of hatred for said user. The mods throw out bans towards users they hate like a guy in a firetruck on Halloween. You could get banned for 3 months because you argued with a troll. And if you contact the mods to discuss the block, they basically just flip the bird to you and perma mute you.

6. Reddit loves trolls. No one likes trolls... except reddit. Reddit never punishes trolls who are deliberately trying to start shit in the comments. They, instead, resort to punishing the other users. It might be that they are trying to say "don't feed the troll!", but why the hell are you punishing an innocent user for something they didn't do while you let the troll run rampant making the already terrible community even worse?

7. Circlejerks are everywhere. This is basically #3, but hear me out. Reddit users always have the same opinions and beliefs, have of them are flat-out WRONG. Let's explain how (quick warning: this is where the post gets NSFW. Skip if you don't want to read the next paragraph if you don't like explicit stuff.)

The long-lasting debate between circumcised vs uncircumcised. I will say that being cut isn't better, but being uncut isn't better either. Both are equally good as they are bad, it all just depends on the family. But, reddit would disagree. 85% of users think that you are worse than Satan if you are circumcised. They nonstop deny the flaws of being uncut and instead resort to using half-assed or bullshit reasons why you are a bad person for support circumcision/being circumcised.

I won't get too into politics, but reddit is clearly on the left. I will say something though, I think Donald Trump is one of the worst presidents ever. He's racist, he's arrogant, he's a borderline pervert, and he only cares about his public image and money. But this circlejerking and treating different parties like they're bad is just silly. Twitter and Facebook have the same problems -- they only focus on the bad of the party/politician they are against, and only focus on the good of the party/politician they support. Also, I don't know why, but redditors can't go two seconds without preaching about how atheism is humanity's greatest acheivement. Redditors also seem to have a massive hatred for children and insult them nonstop. What makes even more sad is that they are all adults mostly.

Essentially, if you disagree with any reddit user, to quote Uncle Al "If you are watching this, allow us to say -- you're fucked!"

8. The karma system/upvote and downvote system. I agree the idea is good, but the way users execute it is beyond horrible. Reddit has a habit of downvote-bombing posts and comments that go slightly against their general beliefs. If you post ONE thing that has a sentence reddit users generally disagree with; it is likely your post will get 0 upvotes, and the first comment childishly using meme insults towards you will get 15 upvotes. I swear, reddit is like an actual cult.

9. Reddit Gold/Reddit Coins. Although they are entirely optional, the prices are just stupid. For Gold (the subscription service), it costs $5.99 a month, or $6 rounding up. That's a staggering $72 every month. Paying that much money for optional benefits is stupid. That's more expensive than a Nintendo game! The coins' (the currency) price is worse. To get 82,000 coins, you have to spend $199.99. Bruh! Look at all those cool goodies you have in your room! All those things you have can be up to $200 or more and you can use them and keep them forever, unlike this.

10. You aren't allowed to have fun. You can't make one shitpost on a shitpost subreddit without having your post deleted or getting a warning.

11. No one is funny. Every reddit "meme" is just the same "haha children bad women bad men good Trump bad Pewdiepie good Keanu Reeves Big Chungus is best meme destruction wholesome wholesome 100 100 100". Tell me, how is that funny? Also, reddit is far from " wholesome" when everyone there is a snarky passive-aggressive spineless dung pile of fuck. It's funny that they always shit on TikTok for being unfunny, yet they are even less funny since reddit is the most humorless website ever.

12. The mobile design is ass. It's limited, laggy, and you basically can't do anything. You can't make polls or see all types of comments. Also, the deign is completely uninspired and bland.

13. Annoying and pointless bots. They are pointless, unfunny, and so primitive. Also, they are legit everywhere.

I'm just going to link two videos describing reddit's issues and how much of a horrible website it is.

Overall? This is reddit in a nutshell:

SkullcrawlerBuddyOfficial (talkcontribs)

I posted this here because RWW won't let me post long comments.

SuperStreetKombat (talkcontribs)

Why won't it let you post long comments there?

SkullcrawlerBuddyOfficial (talkcontribs)

It had this glitch where it prevented me from doing so, as it wouldn't load properly. It's working fine now though.

The Dunkman (talkcontribs)

How about we add it on both wikis?

SkullcrawlerBuddyOfficial (talkcontribs)

I made a comment about Birdemic claiming it's a masterpiece and said sarcastically "you imbeciles" as a joke and got blocked. I am unblocked now, and I'll say I'm sorry. I did not have the intention of hurting or antagonizing anyone. I just wanted to make an innocent joke.

I will repost the comment (I wanted to be funny) just excluding the "you imbeciles" part. If anyone was hurt by it, I'm sorry. I hope no one felt bad. Apologies to everyone.

DarkMatterMan4500 (talkcontribs)

That's fine. No offense taken. I just have a hard time telling the difference between what a certain joke is, and a very serious matter. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 01:23, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

SkullcrawlerBuddyOfficial (talkcontribs)

No worries. I am reposting it, just without the insult. Sorry.

Blocked for 1 month for insulting the userbase:

DarkMatterMan4500 (talkcontribs)

Hi, I have only temporarily blocked you for 1 month for making comments like this. It's fine to have an opinion on amovie being on this wiki, but wording it like that is not only inappropriate when arguing about a movie, but also does not warrant insults. You may make your appeal here if you wish to, and if I see that it's good, I'll unblock you. Thanks. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 00:58, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

YukariWayne (talkcontribs)

he may be a troll.

SkullcrawlerBuddyOfficial (talkcontribs)

It was a joke. A JOKE. I wasn't attacking any users and calling any out. How are you taking the comment of me saying Birdemic of all things is a masterpiece and saying "you imbeciles"? I was NOT attacking anyone directly nor forcing my opinions onto anyone. Wow...

I was not attacking ABSOLUTELY ANY users, it was clearly sarcasm. How could you take a comment claiming Birdemic of all things is a masterpiece and that it changed my identity? I did not at all call out a user and insult them, nor did I say people should like the movie and be serious.

This ban is silly and ridiculous. I shouldn't have been blocked over a sarcastic review. I should have an appeal immediately.

DarkMatterMan4500 (talkcontribs)

Yeah, sorry. I have a hard time telling the difference between a joke and an actual serious threat. I just mix them up for whatever reason.

SkullcrawlerBuddyOfficial (talkcontribs)

No worries! Sorry for being aggressive.

DeciduousWater534 (talkcontribs)

Alright, your unblocked.

DarkMatterMan4500 (talkcontribs)

Oh, I see. I get it now. I'm terribly sorry for the mistake.

SkullcrawlerBuddyOfficial (talkcontribs)

Thank you.

Disagree with Lake Placid being on here

SkullcrawlerBuddyOfficial (talkcontribs)

Quick note: I already posted it on the blog, just posting it here to discuss with others.

Alright, I have to get this off my chest. I don't think Lake Placid should be on here. Most of the reasons in the article I saw I highly disagree with. 1. How is Lake Placid a Jaws ripoff? They are very different from each other aside from having one similarity.

2. Although the dialogue is bad, it's likely intentional. The movie is self-aware and uses the dialogue for laughs.

3. The sheriff in this movie is meant to be stupid and incompetent, that's why he's so ignorant about crocs.

4. Yeah, the storyline isn't good, but not bad. That's because it's not the point. The movie isn't meant to be Citizen Kane or the Shawshank Redemption. It's plot is not supposed to be a high-end, thought-provoking storyline about love and betrayal that will open your third eye, make you find your sexuality and identity, discover who you are in the spiritual realm, and give reflections about the wrongdoings of society.

Also, it ignores the good qualities of the movie, like the great visual effects, the incredible soundtrack and the suspenseful scenes.

I don't want to sound like a dick or anything and I don't think the creator of the article is a villain, I just don't think Lake Placid should be on AMW. BTW sorry about the long lecture.
