The Pumaman (Italian: L'uomo puma) is an Italian low-budget superhero film released in 1980.

A young man receives a mystical Aztec medallion, which allows him to transform into a puma-themed superhero like his ancestors before him.

Why It Flies Like A Moron!

  1. Low-quality special effects.
    • The scene with Pumaman flying is particularly laughable, with the obvious rear-projected background.
    • Everything, from walls to metal car roofs, falls apart like it was made of cardboard.
  2. The costumes are extremely tacky and cheap-looking, like Pumaman's poncho cape.
  3. Terrible acting from Walter George Alton (which is very unsurprising, since he wasn't an actor).
  4. Tony isn't really a sympathetic hero, as he is whiny, cowardly, and overall ineffectual, leaving Vadinho to do most of the fighting for him.
  5. The fight scenes are laughable, especially compared to the 1960s Batman show.
  6. The romance subplot is boring and pointless.
  7. Unfitting and repetitive soundtrack.
  8. Cheesy and often nonsensical dialogue.

The Only Redeeming Quality

  1. Despite its poor quality, the film is still entertaining in a so-bad-it's-good kind of way.

  • The movie has never officially been released on DVD, although it was the subject of a Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode in 1998, and was released as a bonus feature on Shout! Factory's MST3K Volume XXIX DVD box set on March 25, 2014.
