I really don't know if i'm seeing Ablaze, rather than me, watching Backdraft 2.

Please, don't watch the second Backdraft! I will watch Ablaze over that. I am planning on seeing Wagons East with John Candy. You are free to skip seeing Ablaze and or Backdraft 2.
I won't see Backdraft 2, I saw on IMDB that a number of people didn't like it.
You made the right choice!
I am watching Wagons East with John Candy to improve the page.
Wagons East is awful. Not sure what my next film will be. Hopefully, something better than that. You should probably see that instead. There are some things that are actually pretty good in the film. However, a majority of the film is not funny.
Ablaze vs. Backdraft 2
To me, Ablaze is a better awful firefighter film than Backdraft 2, because that was actually entertaining to me as much hate as Ablaze gets, it is ten times better than Backdraft 2. Ablaze is more watchable to me than Backdraft 2. I grew up more with the original Backdraft, Ladder 49 and Ablaze than Backdraft 2.
Ablaze is basically a poor man's Backdraft. But I would watch it anyday over Backdraft 2. Because it is more enjoyable while Backdraft 2 feels like an extended two part episode (albeit a bad two part episode) of Chicago Fire.
Good point, Declan! Ablaze is a poor attempt at making a film similar to Backdraft. Backdraft 2 is just a pile of smoldering drek that I will not watch again and yes it does feel like a poor attempt at making a film similar to Chicago Fire and I love Chicago Fire. To me, Backdraft 2 does not exist in my mind. The original Backdraft from 1991 only exists to me. To add to that, Ladder 49 is better than Backdraft 2 and that is a film that got the post-Backdraft firefighter genre correct. In the commentary, Jay Russell, the director of Ladder 49 stated that before filming began, he spoke to (and got tips from) Ron Howard, the director of the first Backdraft on how to use real fire for the fire sequences.
Don't forget, David and Declan, The Towering Inferno, Volcano, and Only the Brave are also better than Boringdraft 2. (NOTE: I'm actually name calling the movie title.)
To me, GMW, GMW, GMW, GMW, and GMW are the only firefighting films that exist in my mind, David and Declan. :)
I'll say no to Backdraft 2 at all costs.
I won't forget. Just watch the original Backdraft like I say! Chicago Fire is to me, the true Backdraft sequel. To me, the perfect non (and post) - Backdraft film is Ladder 49.
I also enjoyed Ladder 49.
The most special part of that film is that I saw Ladder 49 in the theater and it is one of my favorite films that I saw during my teen years. In fact, it was the first PG-13 film that I saw in the theater.
