James Nguyen (born September 1st, 1966) is a Vietnamese film director, writer, producer and actor. He's known for his terrible films, most notable the cult classic Birdemic: Shock and Terror and its sequel, Birdemic 2: The Resurrection. He runs the film production company Moviehead Pictures.
All of his films are absolutely terrible. Terrible acting, terrible writing, terrible directing, terrible camera quality, and terrible editing.
He's 100% oblivious to his own skill at making movies and of the fact that people like his films because they're terrible and not because they're good.
He's incredibly stubborn when people reason with him. When someone tries giving him advice, he immediately gets mad and tries to argue how he's right.
Despite promising payment to people involved in his movies, according to actors, he tries to avoid paying them.
Birdemic has a cult following for being "so bad, it's good".
In 2016, Nguyen tried to crowdfund for the third installment of his Birdemic film series, Birdemic 3: Sea Eagle. He first launched a campaign on Indiegogo which only raised $596 of its $500,000 goal, followed by a project on Kickstarter which only raised $230 of its $200,000 goal.
