Why It Sucks
- Awful story.
- Excessive amounts of toilet humor.
- Unlikeable characters.
- Annoying conversations about having sex.
- Crappy dialogue.
- The sex-related jokes are degrading.
- A pointless cameo from band Sum 41, just because their lead singer has a named role in the film.
The film was mercilessly panned by both critics and audiences. Roger Ebert awarded the film with zero stars and stated, "Here is a film so pitiful, it doesn't rise to the level of badness. It is hopelessly incompetent." He also called it the third worst film of 2005. The film currently holds a 4% "rotten" rating on Rotten Tomatoes with the critic consensus stating "The laugh-free Dirty Love is a comedy dead zone -- it's aggressively crude and shoddily constructed."
The film bombed at the box office, only making $36,099 against its $9 million budget.
